Head Coach & Lead Instructor - Ron Metzler

Our Baseball Instructor and Perfect game CLE Founder, Ron Metzler, has baseball running through his veins and always on his mind.

Ron started playing baseball at 3 years old in the Garfield Heights Tee Ball League.  When old enough for more competitive baseball, he played in the CVBA for travel starting at 8 years old. In the 7th and 8th grade Ron was a part of the CYO Program for St. Therese School.

Ron played his High School Baseball at Independence.  During his Sophomore year as a member of the JV pitching staff, Ron compiled a 7-0 record and led his team to a 13-1 record during the regular season.  During one home game, Ron pitched a complete game shutout and hit 2 home runs.

While attending the University of Akron to study Business, Finance, and Psychology, Ron began his coaching journey with 11-12 year olds in Independence during the 2006 and 2007 season for the Independence/Brecksville Little League.

Ron played on and managed an 18+ men's team in 2008-2010, The Tri City Trojans and The Blue Claws. These teams played in the NOSPBL at The Pipeyard Stadium and in The Strongsville AAA League at Foltz.

Taking some time off from Baseball Coaching, Ron founded a competitive coed slow pitch softball team in 2009 and proceeded to win 50 games in a row with 0 losses between the 2009-2011 seasons.

Returning to coaching baseball in 2015, Ron was assistant JV Coach at Brunswick HS for the 2015 and 2016 seasons.

During summer of 2015, Ron was head coach for an 8U team in Parma Little League. It was during this coaching time Ron realized where his true passion was- coaching players around 7-14 years old.

Coach Ron prefers to coach kids under 14 because this is where he feels he can make the biggest impact and correct bad habits and mechanics before the players get to High School.
